Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo! My husband has agreed to become a writer’s widower for 30 days while I live and breathe writing!
My novel is tentatively titled “Letters”. It’s going to be about a daughter who discovers family secrets through long-forgotten letters left behind in an old trunk. There are twists swirling in my head, and I’m so excited about this project! Even if you aren’t remotely interested in this wild-and-crazy event, I hope you’ll indulge my passion. My blog will get a little less attention this month, but I do have a couple of treats in store for you along the way.
My gift to you today is a funny little story…I hope you get a good chuckle out of it!!
Wrong Email Address:
(Author Unknown)
A couple going on vacation but his wife was on a business trip so he went to the tropical destination first and his wife would meet him the next day.
When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick email.
Unfortunately, when typing her address, he mistyped a letter and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher’s wife whose husband had passed away only the day before.
When the grieving widow checked her email, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint.
At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen:
Dearest Wife, Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
P.S. Sure is hot down here.

Sounds like a fun project – good luck and keep writing. Wish I was doing nano this year, but I’ve got to put other priorities first this year so that in the years to come I can write and of course to nano. Have fun!

Thank you! I see you’ve done NaPoWriMo -I’d not heard of that before. Sounds intriguing -and very challenging as well! I’m not much of a poet!
Thanks for visiting!

Hi Denise, we found your blog, while visiting a mutual friend (4 am writer). I loved the story you left: Wrong Email Address, and have (Pressed it) on our blog, which was an experience in itself. First time. Good luck with NaNoWriMo, and please don’t feel the need to comment back as I’m sure with NaNoWriMo, your time is very limited. What a committment! And have to say, we’re completely intrigued by the idea of your story for NaNoWriMo. Hope we can read that as well! Best of luck with your writing frenzy.

I admire you. I have two ideas for a book but am still a bit nervous…when the time is right I suppose…It is scary just admitting it out loud!

Oh, Thanks Patty! I’m just as nervous as you, probably! Saying it out loud definitely takes it to a new level!
I encourage you to try NaNo next year -you’ll have a year to psych yourself up for it! No one has to know but you if you want!
(You can make code names for yourself and be as anonymous as you like!) One or both of your ideas deserve to be nurtured and expanded!!! 🙂

Oh have fun! I don’t have time to fully commit to NaNoWriMo this year but I did just recently start another novel and am going to attempt to get some fiction writing done each day. Is this your first attempt at novel writing? It is really fun – I think you will find out this month how fun it is! I hope I’ll get to read what you’ve written at the end of the month!

Nice one! Good luck and keep us posted when you take breaks. I’m in awe of all of you who are doing this. Going to be a quiet November at Word Press. I may take part in No Shave November, like my 3 grown sons used to do when they were in high school. 3 teenagers running around trying to grow beards is something. I’m sure I can have a pretty fine beard on my kneecaps towards Thanksgiving if I try really hard. Even dorks have goals, just not quite as lofty as yours. 😉
