Three Autographed Books to Give Away!
NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) begins in less than two weeks! This will be my third year participating in NaNoWriMo. It’s an international writing event that continues to grow with over 250,000 people participating in 2011. Write a novel in 30 days? Sara Gruen started her book “Water for Elephants” during NaNo! It’s free and open to anyone, any age! See what all the fuss is about out www.nanowrimo.org.
Three friends have been published this fall, and with NaNoWriMo on the horizon, it seemed a fitting time to say kudos to them all! They’ve each agreed to give an autographed copy away, so continue reading to see how to enter! (10/28/12 -Update: winners listed at the end of the post)

I’ve learned that, for me, writing is the easy part. It’s the editing that seems to go on forever. Good luck this year!

Yes, that is the case, isn’t it? I haven’t edited either of my others yet. Works in progress, for sure!

Fun contest, Denise! I did a mini NaNoWriMo last year and loved it. I’m a person who needs deadlines and pressure and goals and pretty much anything that prods. 🙂
I just finished The Almost Always Come Home by Cynthia Ruchti, and I was surprised how much I liked it. A Christian fiction book about middle-aged people with marriage problems? Not my usual read, but Ruchti took me straight into the Canadian wilderness and straight into her whiny and bratty and totally real heart. I honestly didn’t know how the story would turn out and the subtle humor and clever figures of speech just cracked me up.
So that’s my recommendation for the day!

Sounds appropriate for the season of your life right now! 😉
Thanks for participating and for the book suggestion.
I’ll put you down for 2 entries!
(That’s a big thing for me with NaNo: deadlines & pressure! It motivates me!)

Hi Yaz! Thanks for your encouragement! I’m sorry about the shipping.
They actually all have Kindle Editions…I will ask about that, perhaps you could just win one of those versions instead.
(**Update: Sorry, but will have to leave it at the print version)

A contest! What fun! I’d be happy with any of the books. And the one I’m reading now is fabulous: “Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet”. It’s about Japanese and Chinese Americans during WWII. The characters and story line tug at your heart and the history is eye opening.

Wow! Thanks! That sounds like quite a task. I can barely write a grocery list if given 30 days. I’m in, and would love a copy of Dear Miklos if I’m the lucky winner. For my bonus entry, I add Sunshine Hunter by Maddie Cochere for my book review. It’s a light and breezy romance/mystery-first novel by Maddie, and the opener to the series of Susan Hunter Mysteries. A great read with a very light and witty touch. Check it out!
